Description

Our organically grown dark roast coffee is roasted locally by Het Hoofdkwartier Koffiebranderij. They source the coffee beans directly from the south side of the Indonesian Sulawesi Island in East Borneo. This typically Indonesian coffee is grown by Benteng Alla, a small local farmers cooperative. Grown without artificial fertiliser and pesticides, this coffee is organic. However due to prohibitively high costs of certification, it is not certified. Our Indonesian coffee has a deep and bold flavour, as well as a less acidic taste than light roast coffees.

How to use
This dark roast coffee is ideal for espresso-based beverages. We recommend dark roast for cold brews, as it has a richer taste, with deeper and earthier notes of chocolate and nuts. Additionally, it pairs and mixes well with vegan milk alternatives. Coffee beans can keep for up to 2 years, and ground coffee for about half a year. That said, to best experience the unique flavour of this coffee, we recommend you grind and use the beans within 14-30 days of their roast. Little Plant Pantry's coffee beans are roasted on Wednesdays, and delivered 1-2 days after.

Production Process
Upon harvest, the coffee cherries are stripped of their pulp (a process called wet hulling) and then dried in the sun. Imported from Indonesia and locally roasted by Het Hoofdkwartier Koffiebranderij.
