Description
Organic borlotti-pinto beans are a variety of kidney beans that have a sweet flavour and smooth texture. They are ideal for salads and Italian- or Mexican-style cooking. The most popular dried bean in the United States, pinto beans are rich in nutrients, especially fibre and protein.
How to Use
To cook borlotti beans, thoroughly rinse your beans and add them to a large pot with chopped white onions, salt, garlic powder, cumin, and one bay leaf. Cover with about 3 cm of water, and bring to a boil. After boiling for a few minutes, bring it to a simmer and cook between 45 min and 1.5 hours, depending on if you like them softer or harder. Pair with rice or serve alongside seasonal veggies.
Production Process
Our pinto beans are harvested and then brought to the factory where they are cleaned (removing stones etc.). After this the beans are selected on size and polished, with broken beans being removed. Finally, the product is laser sorted, x-rayed and packed.
