Description

Organic brown lentils hold their shape nicely when cooked and can be used similarly to green Dupuy lentils, although they have a more mild and earthy flavour. You can mash this all-in-one lentil into veggie burgers, use as a salad topper or even blend into soups.

How to Use
Before cooking your lentils, strain and rinse them thoroughly, removing any stones or hard pieces. Add one part rinsed lentils to a pot with two parts of water. Optional: add a bay leaf or garlic clove. Bring it to a rapid simmer then reduce the heat and let them simmer uncovered for 20-30 minutes. Add water if needed so the lentils are only barely covered. They should be tender, not crunchy and may take longer if they are older. Strain the lentils and remove the bay leaf, add a pinch of salt and season as desired.
