Description
Our organic tapioca starch is a mildly sweet white flour that is great for cakes, biscuits and pie crusts. Made from the starch of cassava root, tapioca is commonly used to thicken sauces or add the gooey texture desired in vegan cheeses. Tapioca is widely used in Asian cuisine, especially in Thai recipes, and is a pantry staple for any plant-based diet.
How to Use
Tapioca starch is a gluten-free starch that can be used in cakes and biscuits. It has also been used in many vegan cheese recipes to give it that gooey, stringy texture. Combine 3/4 cup of coconut milk, 3 tbsp of nutritional yeast, 2 tbsp of tapioca flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder and a pinch of salt in a pot and whisk to combine. Once everything is combined turn on the heat, bring it to a boil and stir consistently. Lower the heat and let it sit for about a minute or until thickened. Serve over pasta, pizza, or as a stand alone vegan cheesy dip.
