Description
Pearl barley, one of the oldest and most treasured grainsβ is used all around the world. Our pearl barley has had the bran partially removed, resulting in quicker cooking time. It is a hearty grain that is wonderful in risottos and soups, including classic dishes like vegetable barley soup.
How to Use
To use pearled barley, rinse 1 cup of barley and add to a pot with 3 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Bring it to a boil, cover, let it simmer until the water has evaporated and fluff with a fork. Combine your cooked barley with cucumber, radishes and spinach for a healthy and filling lunch. Optional: add fruit, nuts, lemon juice or dressing.
