Description
Organic long grain brown rice has a sweet nutty flavour and chewy texture. It has an aroma similar to white basmati rice. It is rich in fibre and has a lower glycemic index.
How to Use
Some people shy away from brown rice because they think it takes too long to cook. To cut down on cooking time, soak the long brown rice for at least 6 hours or preferably overnight, covered and in the fridge. When you are ready to cook, drain the rice and add 1 part rice to 2 parts water to a pot. Bring it to a boil for a few minutes before covering it and lowering the heat to a simmer. After only 20 minutes, your brown rice is tender and ready to eat.
