Our organic brown basmati rice has a nutty flavour and aromatic scent, with a firm but light texture. Basmati is a softer rice grain that pairs excellently with dhal, Thai or Indian curry and spicy bean dishes. It can also act as a savoury filling in salads when cold.

A cup of basmati rice has 20 per cent more fibre when compared to any other rice. Not only is basmati rice high in fibre, but due to its low glycemic index, it is safe for diabetics to consume.

How to Use
Rinse your basmati rice with cold water and soak in cold water for 30 minutes to 24 hours (the longer you soak the less time it takes to cook). Add 2.5 parts of water and 2 parts of rice and a pinch of salt to a pot. Bring to a boil for a few seconds, reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 20-40 minutes depending on how long you soaked for. Remove from heat and leave it covered to steam for about 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
