Description
Black Thai Hom rice is a naturally sweet, dark rice (dark purple more than black) that has both fibre and antioxidants. Originating from Thailand, this rice is adaptable and versatile, making it the perfect pantry staple. Use black Thai Hom rice for a twist on the classic banana rice pudding.
How to Use
Before cooking your black rice be sure to rinse it under cold water thoroughly. Then add 1 part rice and 1.5 parts water (or veggies stock to a pot). Bring it to a boil for a minute or two before covering it and letting it simmer for 20-30 minutes or until the water is absorbed. Then remove it from heat and let the rice steam for another 10-15 minutes. Fluff the steamed rice with a fork and serve.
