How to Use
Smoothies: One of the most popular ways to use maca powder is by adding it to your morning smoothie. Combine a teaspoon to a tablespoon of maca powder with fruits, greens, and your choice of liquid (e.g., almond milk, coconut water, or (vegan)yogurt) for an energy-boosting and nutrient-rich drink.

Oatmeal or Cereal: Stir maca powder into your morning oatmeal or cold cereal for a nutty, earthy flavor. It pairs well with the natural sweetness of fruit and maple syrup.

Baking: You can incorporate maca powder into your baking recipes like muffins, pancakes, and energy bars. Replace a portion of the flour with maca powder to infuse your baked goods with added nutrients.

Coffee or Tea: If you're a coffee or tea drinker, consider adding a small spoonful of maca powder to your beverage for a unique flavor and energy boost. It can provide a coffee-like richness without the caffeine.

Yogurt or Chia Pudding: Mix maca powder into your (vegan) yogurt or chia pudding for added nutrition and flavor. It blends well with these creamy textures.

Nut Butter: Combine maca powder with nut butter, such as almond or peanut butter, to make a maca-infused spread. Enjoy it on toast or as a dip for fruit slices.

Salad Dressing: Create a maca-flavored salad dressing by whisking maca powder with olive oil, lemon juice, maple syrup, and your favorite herbs and spices. Drizzle it over your salads for an extra nutrient boost.

Hot Beverages: Add maca powder to hot chocolate, warm (vegan) milk, or even a chai latte for a unique flavour twist and added nutritional benefits.

Remember that maca powder has a nutty, earthy flavor, so it complements many recipes. Start with a small amount (e.g., 1 teaspoon) and gradually increase it as you get used to the taste. While maca is generally considered safe, it's a good practice to consult with a healthcare professional, especially if you have any specific health concerns or are pregnant or nursing, before adding maca to your daily routine.

Production Process
The maca seed is sown in September, about a month before the rainy season starts. Sowing is done in the early morning to avoid the strong wind on the mountain walls. After sowing, the seeds are buried using branches, or sheep are released into the field to trample them into the ground. After 260 to 280 days the plants are ready for harvest. The roots are dug up and placed in the sun for 10-15 days until they are dried.

The dried maca roots can be stored for up to seven years. These dry roots are then ground into a fine powder, the color of the powder is beige.
