Prunes Organic

Organic Prunes are dried pitted plums. They come from the European plum, a species of flowering plant in the family of Rosaceae. Organic Prunes have a deep complex flavor and mild notes of sourness which balances their sweetness out. Prunes are 64% carbohydrates including fiber, 2% protein, an abundant source of vitamin K, and a modest source of potassium and B vitamins. Their high sugar content permits them to be dried without fermenting. Although high in sugar, they don't cause rapid increase in blood sugar levels. They are also a good source of energy.
